SUITABLE FOR: Mums only!
This regular Tuesday morning meet up is desigined for Mum's to meet up with other parents and have a great adventure in the outdoors without any kids for a couple of hours. Each week we will do a different activity in the Mournes area, followed by teas, coffees and buns to celebrate the awesome adventure we've just had and to make new friends with other parents.
The third week of our Mid-Week Mum's Adventure series will start off by hitting the river down round at Bloody Bridge (Newcastle) to take part in one of the most exciting and immersive water sessions there is to do!
On this 2 hour session, you'll get to experience the completely immersive (literally and figuratively!) adventure that is Wet Bouldering. We start the session by giving you toasty warm winter wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets. Then we give a quick safety brief and head straight to the base of the fast flowing Bloody Bridge river to have an adventure to remember! This session involves us making our way up the river, climbing waterfalls, sliding down natural rock slides, swimming across pools (optional), squirming through little constrictions and jumping off little cliffs into the water!
This is a great inclusive session for everyone, including non swimmers. Pretty much every section of river can be avoided or made easier so if you dont fancy the cliff jumping you can simply skip it!
At the end of this morning buzz, we'll make our way back down the mountain track and get changed back into warm clothes before feeding you up with a few tasty buns with fresh hot tea and coffee before sending you off refreshed to pick up the kiddos on time from school - with plenty of great stories to tell the other mum's at the school gates!
Non - Swimmers
This session, as with all of our water sessions, are completely suitable for non swimmers and people who are nervous in the water. We can adapt the session to suit your needs without affecting the other members of the group. For example on the SUP sessions we can stay shallow if needed, or if wet bouldering we can skip sections that require a swim. We actually look forward to seeing non swimmers and nervous folks on our sessions as we can then help you to get over any fears they may have, in a gentle, positive and progressive manner - we make it our aim to push your boundaries to just the right level. Everyone on our sessions goes home feeling less afraid than when they came in!
- Instruction by experienced and fun watersport & mountain Instructors
- Use of all technical equipment - wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets
- First aid cover and insurance
- Digital pictures and videos of your session
- Hot drinks and snacks afterwards to warm up after each session
What to Bring:
- Clothing and equipment on attached kit list
- Completed Health Declaration & Registration Form
- Any medication you may need
- Loads of energy for the water!!

Should government restrictions come into effect on the date of the course which would prevent us from running the activity, we will offer alternative dates on which to take part in the activity, or a credit note to the value of the missed activity, which can be used against any of our services or events.
