About The Event
BOARDS ON THE BAY – Warrenpoint 23rd and 24th May 2026
Set against the stunning backdrop of Warrenpoint’s shoreline near the pier, Boards on the Bay is an exciting paddle boarding experience running alongside the Guinness Blues on the Bay festival this May.

Taking place on 23rd and 24th May, the event features two x 1-hour stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) sessions each day, starting at 11:00am and 12:00pm on both days.

Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced paddler, these sessions offer the perfect opportunity to get out on the water and experience something truly special.
There’s no better way to kick off a day at the Blues festival than with time on the water. Paddle boarding is an invigorating, calming, and a fully immersive experience—perfect for clearing your mind, boosting your energy, and connecting with the natural beauty of the bay. Whether you're gliding across still waters or gently finding your balance (maybe after a few Guinness at the blues fest!), it’s a refreshing reset that will leave you feeling recharged and ready to soak up the music and atmosphere for another day!
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Each session includes everything you need for a safe and enjoyable time on the water:
High-quality paddle board, paddle, and leash
Buoyancy aid (personal flotation device)
Wetsuit (if required)
Safety briefing and basic instruction from experienced instructors
Guided session on the water to help you build confidence and skills
Pics and vids of the experience
WHAT DO I BRING?
To make the most of your session, we recommend bringing:
Swimwear to wear under your wetsuit (arrive in this already under your clothes)
Towel / changing robe and a change of clothes.
Old trainers or water shoes (that you don’t mind getting wet)
Sunscreen (weather dependent)
Water bottle to stay hydrated
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This event is suitable for adults and also accompanied young folks aged 10+, and is suitable for beginners or experienced paddlers.
Bring your own group to keep the party going, or come along and meet new friends to take out the pub later for more amazing blues music!
